Bubbles are modular newsletter blocks. Drag them into the newsletter, reorder them,
edit the text, add your own headings or notes, apply your firm branding, then export to PDF.
Bubble types
- Big Picture: the main client-ready opening narrative for the week.
- Charts: context charts drawn from decades of Federal Reserve and market data
— drawdown history, rates in historical context, inflation versus wages, and others. They
regenerate every cycle and print at full resolution in the exported PDF.
- Trending: what clients may be thinking about based on the week's news and data.
- Stories: important market, economy, policy, company, or geopolitical stories.
- Theme: the dominant investment or planning theme of the week.
- Did You Know: a memorable fact or short educational insight.
- Topic: shorter market explanations, takes, definitions, and client education bubbles.
- Numbers: market snapshots, rates, sectors, commodities, and other data tables.
- Guru: longer research briefings from notable investor/commentator videos.
- Smart Money: institutional positioning and 13F-style manager-convergence insights.
- Opportunities: event-driven market angles for analysis and discussion.
- Anomalies: unusual insider, price, filing, or cross-asset signals.
- Tips: client-facing planning ideas. Review and soften before sending.
Building a newsletter
- Timeframe (Weekly / Monthly): switches the whole library between the
7-day and 30-day window. This reloads bubbles from the server, so the data and
date ranges inside them change — it is not just a filter over what is already shown.
- Search: find bubbles by title or body text.
- Filters: narrow the library by Type (Big Picture, Topic, Numbers…)
and Subject (Markets, Inflation, Rates & Fed…). Advanced filters
adds Format (recap, explainer, take, spotlight, definition, what-it-means) and
Audience (41–55, 56–70, 70+).
- Drag and reorder: drag bubbles into the newsletter and move them into the order you want.
- Edit: use the pencil icon to customize any generated block before exporting.
- + Heading: add your own section heading, such as Client Planning Notes or Upcoming Dates.
- + Text block: add your own intro, disclosure, sign-off, client note, or custom commentary.
- Clear: empties the current newsletter. It does not affect the bubble library or your saved templates.
Templates
The Templates button has two tabs. My templates holds arrangements you
have saved. Start from a layout offers five ready-made structures.
Start from a layout
Pick a layout and the builder fills each section with the strongest matching bubble from the
current library, showing you what it chose and why before anything is added. Bubbles backed by
named reporting are preferred over unsourced ones. Adding appends to whatever is already on your
canvas — it never replaces your work.
- Balanced Weekly Update — the default. Numbers, the week's story, a chart,
education, expert context.
- Monthly Roundup — longer horizon, less news, more perspective. Built for
the monthly window.
- When Clients Are Nervous — the selloff letter. Historical context and
charts, no predictions.
- Answering the Question Clients Keep Asking — one concept explained
properly, with the chart that makes it obvious.
- Opportunity Watch — investable themes, institutional positioning, and a
risk check.
If a layout is built for a different window than the one you are viewing, it says so and offers to
switch — nothing changes unless you click. If the library has nothing suitable for a section,
that section is skipped rather than filled with something weak.
My templates
- Templates → Save current: name and store your current arrangement —
which bubbles you chose, your own headings and text blocks, your masthead, and the timeframe.
- Load: rebuilds that arrangement. System bubbles are re-fetched fresh from the
current cycle, so a saved template gives you this week’s data in last week’s structure.
Your own headings and text blocks are restored exactly as written.
- Delete: removes a saved template. Templates are private to your login.
Brand settings
Brand settings change the exported PDF only. The builder screen stays on the
Channel Capital theme, so colors you pick here will not repaint this page — export to see them.
- Firm name: appears in the exported newsletter masthead.
- Logo upload: adds your logo to the export. Use Clear logo to remove it.
- Primary color: headings and borders in the exported PDF.
- Accent color: the masthead background in the exported PDF.
- Newsletter title and date: the title and dateline on the exported newsletter.
